Future City Competition

Future City is a FREE problem based learning program with computer simulation. 6th, 7th & 8th graders pair w/ a volunteer engineer mentor to create, first on a computer using Sim City and then in large, 3D models using recycled materials their visions of the city of tomorrow. Students research & write a technical essay and then present their city to a panel of judges. The preparation starts in August-October. Regional competitions are in January. The national competition is held in Washington D.C. during Engineer's Week.
